Refund policy

When we refund a purchase or a subscription, how long it takes, and how to ask.

Last updated 23 September 2026

Digital goods, delivered immediately

Books bought here are digital. They appear in your library as soon as payment succeeds, and you can start reading or listening at once. For that reason a purchase is final once the book is in your library, and we do not offer refunds for a change of mind or because you did not enjoy the book.

Every book has a description, a cover, a category and — for most audiobooks — a free sample you can play before buying, so you can judge a title before paying for it.

When we do refund you

We refund in full whenever the fault is ours or the payment went wrong. That includes: you were charged more than once for the same book; money left your account but the book never reached your library; the file is faulty, incomplete or corrupted; the book is materially not the work its listing described; or the purchase was made without your authorisation.

If a book is removed from sale after you bought it, you keep your access — that is not a refund case, because nothing was taken from you.

How to ask for a refund

Email inkcrestpublishing@gmail.com within 14 days of the payment. Tell us the title, the date of the purchase and the email address on your account, and describe what went wrong. If you have the payment reference from your receipt, include it — it makes the check immediate.

You can also call 0708 051 1437 during working hours, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm WAT.

We aim to answer every refund request within 2 working days, and to tell you plainly whether it is approved and why.

How the money comes back

Approved refunds go back to the card or account the payment came from. We cannot send a refund to a different card, account or person.

Once we submit the refund, your bank decides how quickly it appears. Card refunds usually take 5 to 10 working days, and are returned in the currency you were charged in. Where a payment was converted from our US dollar list price, the amount returned may differ slightly from the amount you paid, because the exchange rate moves between the two dates.

Author subscriptions

Subscriptions are charged one period at a time. Cancelling stops any future charge and you keep the plan you have paid for until the end of that period, so there is nothing to refund for the remainder.

We do refund a subscription charge that was taken in error — for example a duplicate charge, or a renewal taken after you had already switched automatic renewal off. Email us and we will put it right.

Where a subscription renews automatically, we email you a receipt each time, so an unexpected charge is easy to spot and query.

Author payouts are not refunds

If you are an author and a payout has not arrived, that is a transfer question rather than a refund. Payouts are sent in US dollars to the account you nominated, and the most common cause of a delay is beneficiary details that the receiving bank rejects.

Write to inkcrestpublishing@gmail.com with the date and amount and we will trace it.
